S.G.A. at a Glance

The S.G.A. is a student-run governing institution, and the chief student organization of Adelphi.  The S.G.A. represents and protects student interests by acting as a liaison and partner with the University administration, faculty, and staff.  Adelphi’s S.G.A. is also empowered to govern, fund, and oversee the majority of on-campus clubs and organizations.

In the 2007-08 academic school year, the S.G.A.’s agenda is the most expansive and ambitious to date. The S.G.A. is working hard to address issues that matter to the student body, such as, commuter concerns, residential life satisfaction, leadership opportunities and academic concerns. The S.G.A. is also working hard to integrate itself into the student body to ensure that it is available and accessible to any student who may need its services.

All undergraduate students are encouraged to contact S.G.A. or attend one of our weekly public meetings every, which are every Tuesday at 6:00pm in UC 211-212. S.G.A. also holds periodic town hall meetings and “S.G.A. On the Road” meetings in different locations on campus. Please check back for updates!

Students are welcome and encouraged to seek election to this pivotal student organization.  Elections are held twice a year, in September and May.  For more information or to obtain an application, please call the S.G.A. office (516.877.6934), or email sga@adelphi.edu
